Congratulations to our Junior B footballers led by Player / Manager Liam O Connor & captain James Hayes who won the East Cork title last night after a brillant display defeating Ballinacurra 2-15 to 0-6!
This team has suffered a number of final heartaches in this competition over recent seasons but we started the game in very impressive fashion building up a commanding 2-9 to 0-1 lead by halftime. The second half was more even with victory resulting in us securing the title for the 6th time (1969, 1984, 2002, 2004 & 2012).
Captain James Hayes received the trophy from Avril Geary, Chairperson East Cork Board.
The team now go on to represent East Cork in the County championship which will commence on the weekend November 1st / 2nd.
The victory also means the club captured our 3rd Divisional title of the year adding to the Division 3 hurling and the Junior D football championship titles.
